Federal BankFederal Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Federal Bank customers who want to understand how their own FedNet transaction limit, 2FA choice and beneficiary state affect transfers rather than relying on a generic maximum.

Cost / pricing
Federal Bank's current service-charge schedule lists interbank NEFT/RTGS as free on FedNet and FedMobile, while IMPS uses slab charges of ₹2.50, ₹5, ₹7 and ₹15 by transfer amount. Generic outward NEFT/RTGS charge tables still exist for other service contexts, so channel/account scope is retained.

State Bank of IndiaSBI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

SBI retail customers who want one evidence-backed view of NEFT, RTGS and IMPS limits across OnlineSBI/YONO while keeping the four-day new-beneficiary security state separate from the normal ₹25 lakh third-party ceiling.

Cost / pricing
Current SBI IMPS FAQ states ₹1–₹5 lakh IMPS through RINB/YONO/YONO Lite is nil, while SBI's current service-charge index also points to a revised IMPS charge notice effective 15 February 2026; that live-source tension is surfaced rather than silently resolved. SBI service-charge material lists online NEFT/RTGS as nil, with branch charges governed by the current tariff.

01Which transfer rail fits your payment?Read NEFT, RTGS and IMPS separately, with their bank and channel qualifications intact.

Federal Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

NEFT
FedNet documents NEFT up to ₹10 lakh as available 24x7 subject to the client's set transaction limit. Enhanced limits beyond ₹10 lakh are available Monday–Friday and eligible Saturdays from 8:45 AM–6:30 PM.
RTGS
RTGS uses the applicable ₹2 lakh system minimum. FedNet documents transfers up to ₹10 lakh 24x7 subject to the client-set limit, with enhanced limits beyond ₹10 lakh during the published working-day window.
IMPS
IMPS is an instant digital rail; the reviewed Federal sources do not provide one clean universal Federal customer maximum, so v1.39 preserves the customer/channel limit model rather than inventing a daily cap.

SBI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

NEFT
RBI NEFT has no system-level floor or ceiling and settles in 48 half-hourly batches 24x7x365. SBI applies the customer's digital third-party limit, currently configurable from ₹1 lakh to ₹25 lakh per day across NEFT/RTGS/IMPS/general-category merchants.
RTGS
RBI RTGS is real-time 24x7x365 with a ₹2 lakh minimum and no RBI maximum. SBI's retail digital third-party ceiling remains customer-set up to ₹25 lakh/day, so the bank/channel limit can be lower than the RBI system capacity.
IMPS
SBI's current FAQ states ₹5 lakh per transaction, available 24x7, with cumulative online outward transfers up to ₹25 lakh/day or the customer-set third-party limit, whichever is lower. Quick Transfer without adding a beneficiary is separately capped at ₹50,000/day across RINB/YONO/YONO Lite.
02Is the beneficiary ready for the required amount?Check beneficiary activation and temporary cooling conditions before relying on a transfer ceiling.

Federal Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Beneficiary controls
Newly added FedNet beneficiaries are activated instantly for most 2FA arrangements, but customers who selected SMS OTP as 2FA have a 24-hour beneficiary activation wait.
Security cooling
Beneficiary cooling is authentication-form-factor dependent, not a universal Federal number. FedNet also allows customer transaction limits to be changed through its limit-management service.

SBI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Beneficiary controls
Up to eight beneficiaries can be approved per calendar day in the cited IMPS FAQ (four interbank + four intrabank). Beneficiaries approved 6 AM–8 PM activate within one hour; later approvals activate after 6 AM next day.
Security cooling
For the first four days after activation of a new beneficiary, SBI caps total transfers to that beneficiary at ₹5 lakh; after cooling, the normal per-transaction and daily controls apply.
03What charges and failure handling apply?Keep channel charges and the recorded reversal or recovery route attached to the transfer.

Federal Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Charges
Current 1 June 2025 schedule: FedNet/FedMobile interbank NEFT/RTGS free; IMPS ₹2.50 up to ₹1,000, ₹5 above ₹1,000–₹25,000, ₹7 above ₹25,000–₹1 lakh and ₹15 above ₹1 lakh. Other transaction contexts can have their own tariffs.
Failure / reversal
FedNet lets customers track Pending Payments and Payments Made. Its RTGS FAQ states that where the beneficiary bank cannot credit the account, the beneficiary bank returns the funds to the remitting bank within two hours.

SBI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Charges
Current IMPS FAQ says ₹1–₹5 lakh online IMPS is nil; the September 2026 SBI service-charge page also links a revised IMPS charge notice effective 15 February 2026, so the engine flags a live charge-source conflict. Online NEFT/RTGS are treated from SBI's service-charge material as nil; branch tariffs remain separate.
Failure / reversal
SBI says incomplete IMPS transactions reverse immediately where possible; reconciliation cases reverse in T+1 days. Beneficiary/account details remain customer-responsibility controls.

Eligible account / channelRequires an eligible Federal Bank account linked to FedNet/FedMobile with transaction rights, sufficient balance and a customer/client transaction limit. No separate FedNet minimum balance is imposed beyond the underlying account's rules.Requires an SBI account with transaction rights in RINB/YONO/YONO Lite. The payment rail does not change the underlying account's balance, KYC or product restrictions.
NEFT / RTGS / IMPS coverageFedNet supports third-party transfers, beneficiary management, payment tracking and customer-controlled transaction limits. NEFT/RTGS up to ₹10 lakh is documented as available 24x7 via FedNet subject to the client's set limit.NEFT, RTGS and IMPS are available through SBI's retail digital channels; customers can set a shared per-day third-party transaction limit for NEFT/RTGS/IMPS and use IMPS for immediate 24x7 transfers.
Rail / channel limitsFederal's reviewed FedNet FAQ does not publish one universal daily transfer ceiling: customers can view/change their own transaction limit. NEFT/RTGS above ₹10 lakh use an enhanced-limit time window; IMPS remains subject to the customer's/channel limit and applicable payment-system ceiling.SBI's 1 July 2024 OnlineSBI update allows a customer-set per-day third-party limit from ₹1 lakh to ₹25 lakh in ₹1 lakh steps, applying to OnlineSBI, YONO and YONO Lite. IMPS is separately capped at ₹5 lakh per transaction and by the lower of ₹25 lakh/day or the customer's chosen third-party limit. RTGS retains the RBI ₹2 lakh minimum.
Transfer access / eligibilityFederal Bank account holders with appropriate FedNet/FedMobile transaction access. Transaction rights and 2FA are required; corporate and specialised account rules can differ.Registered SBI retail Internet/mobile-banking users with transaction rights and sufficient balance; rail, beneficiary and account-mode restrictions remain applicable.
Rail / beneficiary relationshipThe usable transfer amount depends on the client's set transaction limit, rail rules, beneficiary activation state and account/channel. The bank's ₹10 lakh 24x7 NEFT/RTGS threshold is an availability threshold, not a universal customer daily cap.The ₹25 lakh figure is a shared customer-configurable digital third-party ceiling, not a promise that every NEFT/RTGS/IMPS transaction can be ₹25 lakh. IMPS has its own ₹5 lakh per-transaction cap and new-beneficiary controls.

Federal Bank

Federal Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

  • Beneficiary activation depends on the chosen 2FA form factor: newly added beneficiaries are normally activated instantly, but Federal says customers using SMS OTP as 2FA wait 24 hours.
  • FedNet's FAQ states NEFT/RTGS above ₹10 lakh use enhanced-limit windows on working days, while transfers up to ₹10 lakh are available 24x7 subject to the client's limit.
  • Current FedNet/FedMobile NEFT/RTGS fee waivers and IMPS slab charges must not be confused with generic outward/branch service-charge tables or product-specific waivers.
State Bank of India

SBI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

  • An IMPS beneficiary approved between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM is activated within one hour; approvals after 8:00 PM activate after 6:00 AM the next day. During the first four days after activation, transfers to that new beneficiary are capped at ₹5 lakh in total.
  • SBI's current IMPS FAQ says eligible online IMPS up to ₹5 lakh is nil-charge, but the bank's September 2026 service-charge index separately advertises revised IMPS transaction charges effective 15 February 2026. Verify the linked live charge notice before relying on zero cost.
  • RBI's lack of a NEFT system ceiling and RTGS lack of an RBI maximum do not override SBI's customer-set ₹25 lakh digital third-party ceiling.
