Wrong-fit risks

Keep each product’s cautions beside the product.

A useful comparison shows what can make either option unsuitable instead of averaging those conditions into a score.

HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank Multicurrency ForexPlus Card

  • HDFC's 2% cross-currency charge applies when the transaction currency differs from the available card currency and also to wallet-to-wallet transfers; use the matching wallet where practical.
  • ATM cash fees and daily limits differ by wallet currency, and the overseas ATM operator can add its own fee or lower limit.
  • Regalia ForexPlus has different economics and is currently shown as unavailable on HDFC's reviewed page; its zero-cross-currency feature should not be applied to Multicurrency ForexPlus.
Canara Bank

Canara Bank International Travel Prepaid Card

  • Canara's current product page shows a three-currency fee block (USD/EUR/AUD) while the current service-charge and international-prepaid-rate pages publish schedules for seven currencies; v1.52 preserves that mismatch rather than claiming a universal seven-wallet live product.
  • Cross-currency usage is currently 3%, so a mismatched transaction currency can materially change the effective cost.
  • The current schedule includes inactivity, shortfall and unsuccessful-chargeback fees; these should be checked before leaving a small residual balance dormant.
