Each checkpoint reproduces the recorded product fields instead of assigning a winner. Read the condition, scope and missing-data state before treating a difference as useful to you.

01Which transfer rail fits your payment?Read NEFT, RTGS and IMPS separately, with their bank and channel qualifications intact.

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

NEFT
Minimum ₹1. Maximum depends on segment/time: reviewed table shows ₹10 lakh or ₹1 crore from 1 AM–7 PM, and ₹10 lakh or ₹50 lakh during 7 PM–1 AM and holidays, based on customer segment.
RTGS
Minimum ₹2 lakh. The combined current limits table uses the same segment/time bands as NEFT; ICICI's dedicated RTGS page also displays a simpler ₹10 lakh/day figure, so the engine retains source scope rather than flattening them.
IMPS
Account+IFSC supports up to ₹5 lakh per transaction and ₹20 lakh/day in the reviewed table. Net Banking MMID transfers are separately capped at ₹10,000.

Canara Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

NEFT
RBI NEFT has no system floor/ceiling and settles 24x7 in 48 half-hourly batches. Canara ai1 applies the mobile interbank daily ceiling up to ₹7.5 lakh; savings-bank online NEFT is nil-charge under the current service schedule.
RTGS
RBI minimum ₹2 lakh, 24x7 real-time and no RBI upper ceiling. Canara ai1's mobile interbank daily cap can still constrain the transfer; the current Canara schedule lists outward RTGS ₹24.50/₹49.50 + GST by slab.
IMPS
Instant 24x7 with NPCI ₹5 lakh per-transaction ceiling. Canara ai1 remains subject to the ₹7.5 lakh/day mobile interbank aggregate; Direct Pay without beneficiary is separately ₹25,000/day.
02Is the beneficiary ready for the required amount?Check beneficiary activation and temporary cooling conditions before relying on a transfer ceiling.

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Beneficiary controls
New-payee first-24-hour amounts are category-specific: Global Private/NRI ₹10L, Wealth/Wealth Select ₹5L, Privilege ₹2L, General ₹1L.
Security cooling
ICICI publishes monetary restrictions for the first 24 hours after payee addition rather than one universal wait time. iMobile activation separately carries a ₹10,000 first-day transfer limit.

Canara Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Beneficiary controls
New Canara ai1 beneficiary: no transfer for first 1 hour; after 1 hour and up to 12 hours, up to ₹50,000; after 12 hours, full permitted daily limit. Night-time additions use the bank's 6 AM timing rule.
Security cooling
New Mobile Banking registration: first 24h cumulative ₹15,000, split ₹5,000 Quick Pay + ₹10,000 to a new beneficiary after one hour. Standing instruction to a newly added beneficiary is enabled after 24h.
03What charges and failure handling apply?Keep channel charges and the recorded reversal or recovery route attached to the transfer.

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Charges
Digital NEFT/RTGS are nil. Branch NEFT: ₹2.25/₹4.75/₹14.75/₹24.75 + GST by slab; branch RTGS: ₹20/₹45 + GST. Savings-account IMPS from 1 July 2025: ₹2.50 up to ₹1k, ₹5 above ₹1k–₹1L, ₹15 above ₹1L–₹5L + GST.
Failure / reversal
The transfer workflow distinguishes transaction status and bank support/escalation; exact reversal TAT depends on rail/failure state, so one generic reversal deadline is not invented from unrelated UPI rules.

Canara Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

Charges
Current schedule: online NEFT nil for SB customers; RTGS outward ₹24.50 (₹2–5L) / ₹49.50 (>₹5L) + GST; IMPS Internet/Mobile below ₹1k nil, then ₹3/₹5/₹8/₹15/₹20 + GST by slab up to ₹5L, with stated exempt account classes.
Failure / reversal
Canara's RTGS/NEFT FAQ provides return/escalation routes for non-credit/delay. Pending/failed IMPS should be handled through the bank's transaction-status/support process rather than retried blindly.

NEFT / RTGS / IMPS coverageiMobile and Retail Net Banking support IMPS, NEFT and RTGS, with the bank exposing transfer-limit management and customer-segment-based high-value limits.Canara ai1 supports beneficiary and beneficiary-free interbank transfers using IMPS, NEFT and RTGS, while branch and Internet Banking retain their own service/charge framework.
Rail / channel limitsiMobile's general daily fund-transfer limit is ₹20 lakh; Retail Net Banking default is ₹10 lakh and can be viewed/modified. Rail / beneficiary relationshipICICI's high NEFT/RTGS limits are segment- and time-sensitive and should not be reused as IMPS limits. New-payee caps are also category-specific rather than one universal cooling figure. The ₹7.5 lakh ai1 interbank daily cap is a mobile-channel ceiling, not an RBI rail maximum. Branch RTGS/NEFT can follow different amount capacity and charges.

Wrong-fit risks

A useful comparison shows what can make either option unsuitable instead of averaging those conditions into a score.

ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

  • During the first 24 hours after adding a payee, ICICI currently publishes limits of ₹10 lakh for Global Private/NRI, ₹5 lakh for Wealth/Wealth Select, ₹2 lakh for Privilege and ₹1 lakh for General Banking customers.
  • After iMobile activation, the first-day transfer limit is ₹10,000, a separate temporary app-security state from the new-payee category limits.
  • ICICI's standalone RTGS page can present a simpler ₹10 lakh/day headline while the combined limits table publishes higher segment-based maxima; v1.38 preserves the scope instead of selecting the largest number as universal.
Canara Bank

Canara Bank Transfers — NEFT, RTGS & IMPS

  • During the first 24 hours after registering for Canara Mobile Banking, total financial transactions are capped at ₹15,000: ₹5,000 via Quick Pay plus ₹10,000 to a newly added beneficiary after the first hour.
  • A new beneficiary cannot receive a transfer during the first hour; from 1–12 hours the cap is ₹50,000, and after 12 hours the full permitted mobile-banking limit applies. Standing instructions can be enabled only after 24 hours.
  • Canara's published RTGS/NEFT charges are not the same as its savings-bank online NEFT waiver or IMPS slab tariff, so the three rails are not combined into one 'transfer charge'.
