Decision checkpoints

Answer the questions that can actually change the choice.

Each checkpoint reproduces the recorded product fields instead of assigning a winner. Read the condition, scope and missing-data state before treating a difference as useful to you.

01Does this tariff apply to your exact account?Establish tariff scope before treating any listed fee as applicable.

State Bank of India Banking Fees & Charges

Tariff scope
Retail fee index spanning ordinary Savings, Salary Package, BSBD/basic and selected digital/ATM services. Product-specific tariffs override generic bank guidance.
Who the tariff applies to
Applies to SBI customers only after identifying the exact deposit/account programme, debit card and service channel.

Axis Bank Banking Fees & Charges

Tariff scope
Product-scoped retail fee index. Easy Access is a mainstream balance-fee example; Liberty illustrates separate cash/card pricing; Priority/Burgundy demonstrate relationship waivers.
Who the tariff applies to
The exact Axis Savings/Salary/premium account and linked debit card must be identified before a fee is applied.
02What maintenance costs and waivers are recorded?Keep waiver conditions attached to maintenance charges.

State Bank of India Banking Fees & Charges

Account maintenance
Savings Bank average-balance non-maintenance penalty is waived from 11 March 2020 under SBI's current revised-service-charge index; separate account/service fees can still apply.
Waivers
BSBD/basic, KCC, Salary Package and other programme concessions are retained as scoped overrides rather than treated as bankwide fee waivers.

Axis Bank Banking Fees & Charges

Account maintenance

03Which effective-date conditions govern the charges?Check date logic and the full current cost wording before using a tariff.

State Bank of India Banking Fees & Charges

Effective-date logic
Current and announced-future charges are stored separately. A future-effective row cannot replace the current tariff before its effective date.

Account / tariff scopeFee treatment depends on the exact account class. Ordinary Savings, Salary Package, BSBD/FI/KCC and other schemes can have different waivers or transaction allowances even when they use the same SBI channels.Reviewed Easy Access MAB is ₹12,000 metro/urban, ₹5,000 semi-urban and ₹2,500 rural, with qualifying alternatives. Non-maintenance fee is ₹6 per ₹100 of shortfall capped at ₹600/₹300/₹150 by branch category.
Waivers / free-service treatmentCurrent SBI material includes nil online/digital charges in several contexts, including SBI Unipay bill payments and product-specific digital transfers, while BSBD/basic products retain their own protected basic-service treatment.Selected premium/salary programmes provide fee waivers, and reviewed Liberty material includes unlimited free online NEFT/RTGS. Those benefits remain product-scoped.
Fee thresholds / allowancesFree-transaction counts and fee thresholds are not transaction-value limits. The dated ATM tariff, account schedule and channel tariff must be matched before calculating cost.Cash free allowances and ATM counts are fee counters rather than cash/card amount limits. Axis publishes different ATM/cash structures across Savings variants.

Debit-card chargesDebit-card issuance/annual/replacement pricing remains variant- and account-linked. BSBD/basic RuPay ATM-cum-Debit Card treatment is separately free under the reviewed basic-account evidence.Reviewed Easy Access product evidence lists ₹200 issuance and annual fee ₹100 rural / ₹150 other locations for the linked base card. Priority/Burgundy card fee treatment differs and can be waived.
ATM chargesFor ordinary Savings variants covered by the 1 December 2025 notice (excluding BSBD, KCC and Salary Package), five other-bank ATM/ADWM transactions are free monthly at all centres; post-free pricing is ₹23 + GST financial and ₹11 + GST non-financial.ATM/cash pricing varies by account scheme. The dedicated Axis ATM/cash profile remains the operational source; v1.44 does not turn one product's allowance into a bankwide rule.
Cash / branchBranch/cash pricing remains account/service-specific; no single SBI cash-handling rate is inferred across Savings, Salary, BSBD and business products.Liberty reviewed MID: first five cash transactions or ₹1.5 lakh monthly free, whichever is earlier; beyond that self cash ₹5/₹1,000 or ₹150 minimum, third-party ₹10/₹1,000 or ₹150 minimum.
TransfersDigital transfer pricing is rail/channel specific. The fee ledger does not convert one IMPS/NEFT/RTGS waiver or charge into a universal transfer fee.Reviewed Liberty material states unlimited free online NEFT/RTGS. Other Axis account variants can have different channel/service pricing.
Digital servicesSBI Unipay's reviewed digital bill-payment channels are nil-charge to the customer; underlying biller/card/tax charges remain separate where applicable.Digital-service fees follow the product/channel source; a free online transfer feature does not automatically waive branch or card charges.

Wrong-fit risks

Keep each product’s cautions beside the product.

A useful comparison shows what can make either option unsuitable instead of averaging those conditions into a score.

State Bank of India

State Bank of India Banking Fees & Charges

  • SBI's generic ATM information and its dated 1 December 2025 ATM/ADWM charge notice are not fully aligned; the dated tariff notice is kept as the pricing anchor for the ordinary Savings scope it explicitly covers.
  • SBI has already announced a Salary Package other-bank ATM free-count revision effective 1 October 2026. Because the review date is 10 September 2026, that future rule is stored as future-effective and is not applied as today's charge.
  • BSBD/FI/KCC and Salary Package exclusions mean an ordinary Savings charge must never be copied to every SBI customer.
Axis Bank

Axis Bank Banking Fees & Charges

  • Axis does not have one useful bankwide Savings fee table for every customer; current MIDs differ by product, and v1.44 keeps those differences instead of inventing a universal Axis tariff.
  • Liberty cash allowances and Easy Access balance penalties come from different products and are not combined into one fictional account.
  • Premium debit-card waivers are relationship-dependent and can cease after programme downgrade or loss of eligibility.
