Critical decision facts

Channel scope and security state determine what the published limit really means.

Rail, channel, beneficiary, cooling, authentication and recovery rules stay separate instead of being compressed into one generic digital-banking number.

Exact product-type evidence

ATM & cash service evidence stays in its own structure.

Specialist fields below remain source-scoped. Missing values stay missing; one banking product type is never used to manufacture facts for another.

ATM & cash control map

Free counts, cash limits and cash-handling charges belong to different layers.

Own-bank versus off-us ATM, debit-card/account limits, Cash Recycler/CDM ceilings and branch cash tariffs are kept separately scoped. Reviewed September 10, 2026.

Account / channel scopeFederal separates free own-bank ATM usage from scheme/AMB/geography-specific other-bank allowances and from Savings cash-handling/CDM charges.
Own-bank ATMFederal Bank ATM financial and non-financial transactions are currently ₹0 under the current ATM charge table.
Other-bank ATMAfter the applicable scheme free limit, ₹23 per financial and ₹12 per non-financial transaction. Regular schemes commonly show 5 monthly free transactions; salary/premium/Celesta and AMB/geography-based schemes can provide 10 or unlimited usage.
Withdrawal / machine limitsATM-cum-CDM Cash Machine can dispense up to 40 currency notes per withdrawal transaction; debit-card type and card/account settings control the daily value ceiling.
Cash Recycler / CDMFederal ATM-cum-CDM accepts cardless/card-based deposits, up to 200 currency notes at a time, for eligible Current and Savings Resident/NRO accounts; Savings beyond-free-limit cash-handling charges receive a 50% concession when remitted through CDM.
Branch cashSavings: 5 cash transactions (deposits + withdrawals, excluding ATM withdrawals) or ₹5 lakh per month, whichever is earlier, free; thereafter ₹4 per ₹1,000 or part, minimum ₹100 per transaction under the reviewed FY26 tariff.
Third-party / non-home cashThe reviewed resident account rules state cash deposits are accepted at non-home branches; current cash-handling charges/free limits still apply by account scheme and customer type.
Failed ATM reversalRBI's current controlling baseline is T+5 calendar days with ₹100/day compensation beyond T+5. Federal's ATM help page says customers can lodge the complaint with the card-issuing bank/Fed-e-Point and uses older '5 working days' wording for re-credit.
Security controlsFederal supports Soft PIN and card blocking through FedMobile/FedNet/phone/branch routes. Other-bank ATM insufficient-funds decline is currently ₹25 even if within the monthly free limit.
How to apply the chargesDo not average Federal's scheme-specific other-bank free counts. Own-bank ATM, off-us pricing, cash-handling allowance, CDM concession and debit-card cash ceiling must be evaluated separately.

Fit & cautions

Who this record appears designed for—and what can break the fit.

Best-fit wording summarizes the published proposition. It is not individualized financial advice or an approval prediction.

Potential fit

Federal Bank customers who need the exact account scheme and AMB matched before using an off-us ATM allowance, and who want Cash Machine/CDM rules separated from branch cash charges.

Verify before relying
  • Federal's off-us ATM allowance is highly scheme-specific: regular, salary, premium, Celesta and AMB/geography buckets differ, so one bankwide free count would be misleading.
  • The current Federal ATM help page still describes failed ATM re-credit using '5 working days' wording; the engine keeps RBI's current T+5 calendar-day framework as the controlling consumer-protection baseline.
  • CDM's 50% concession applies to cash-handling charges beyond the free limit; it does not mean every CDM deposit is universally free.
