How to compare

Check the terms that can change the decision.

Category membership alone does not make products interchangeable. Recheck the bank's current controlling agreement, tariff or effective-rate table before acting.

01

Age state first

Separate guardian-operated minor accounts, self-operated minor accounts and adult student accounts before comparing fees or perks.

02

Self-operation is not universal

Banks use different age/signature/guardian-consent rules; being above 10 can enable self-operation at one bank without making every child account equivalent.

03

Child card limits

Use the limit published for the exact child-account relationship. A familiar card name such as Visa Gold or Visa Platinum can carry a much lower minor limit than the general adult version.

04

Balance versus card cost

Account AMB, opening funding, debit-card issuance/AMC and a card-fee waiver threshold are separate requirements and should not be collapsed into one “free” label.

05

Digital rights

Minor internet/mobile access can be enquiry-only, limited-transaction or fuller self-operated access; compare the actual bank-published rights and caps.

06

Majority / age-out

Check what happens at 18 or the student scheme age limit: re-KYC, fresh signatures, debit blocks, automatic conversion and new balance/service-charge rules can materially change the account.
