Other-bank ATMThe dated 1 December 2025 SBI charge notice lists 5 free monthly financial + non-financial other-bank ATM/ADWM transactions at all centres for ordinary Savings Bank variants excluding BSBD/KCC/Salary Package, then ₹23 + GST cash withdrawal and ₹11 + GST non-financial. The generic SBI ATM page still says 3 metro/5 non-metro, so the conflict is exposed.
Withdrawal / machine limitsDebit-card daily limits continue to control card withdrawals. SBI UPI QR Cash/ICCW currently permits up to ₹10,000 per day through at most 2 transactions; SBI also sends an OTP for SBI-debit-card ATM/ADWM transactions above ₹10,000.
Cash Recycler / CDMADWMs are deposit-cum-withdrawal machines. For current accounts, SBI's current waiver notice lists up to ₹1 lakh per card-based deposit transaction, ₹49,900 cardless, ₹49,900 debit-card-to-third-party current account and GRC up to ₹25,000 per transaction/₹1 lakh monthly; existing CBS cash-handling/free-deposit limits still apply.
Branch cashBranch cash-handling and free-deposit/withdrawal rules remain attached to the underlying SBI account tariff; the ADWM waiver does not replace the branch/CBS tariff.
Third-party / non-home cashThe reviewed current-account ADWM waiver allows specified debit-card deposits to a third-party current account up to ₹49,900 per transaction; this is not represented as a bankwide third-party Savings-account rule.
Failed ATM reversalRBI's controlling framework requires proactive reversal when an ATM account is debited but cash is not dispensed within T+5 calendar days and ₹100/day compensation for delay beyond T+5. SBI provides ATM complaint/unauthorised-transaction support through its published customer-care channels.
Security controlsSBI ATMs/ADWMs are EMV-enabled; for SBI debit-card transactions above ₹10,000 at SBI ATMs/ADWMs, a four-digit OTP is sent to the registered mobile number. Cardless UPI QR cash has its own daily/count controls.
How to apply the chargesAlways match the charge row to account segment and own-bank versus other-bank channel. A separate Salary Package revision is already scheduled for 1 October 2026 and must be refreshed before quoting that segment after the effective date.

- SBI's live generic ATM page still describes 3 free other-bank ATM transactions in six metros and 5 elsewhere, while the more specific 1 December 2025 SBI charge notice lists 5 free at all centres for ordinary Savings Bank variants; v1.42 preserves that source conflict and treats the dated charge notice as the pricing anchor.
- SBI has announced a further Salary Package free-transaction revision effective 1 October 2026. The salary-package ATM field is therefore refresh-gated rather than projected beyond 30 September 2026.
- ADWM deposit limits and waivers are account-specific; the current-account waiver must not be copied to Savings or other account types.
